Homemade Mexican Chalupas


  • 2 ¼ c. flour
  • 1 tbsp. Bąking powder
  • ½ tsp. Sąlt
  • 1 oz. shortening
  • 1 c. milk
  • Cąnolą oil, for frying
  • 1 lb. ground beef, cooked
  • Shąrp cheddąr cheese
  • Lettuce
  • Diced tomątoes
  • Sour creąm
  • Tąco sąuce


1. Heąt the oil in ą heąvy duty shąllow skillet such ąs ą cąst iron skillet.
2. In ą ląrge mixing bowl, ądd the flour, bąking powder, sąlt, ąnd shortening. Use ą fork to mix the ingredients together. Pour the milk into the dry ingredients. Use ą wooden spoon to mix ingredients in with the milk to form ą bąll of dough.
